Overview

Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva became famous overnight in 2010 when she became the first woman to win the Warsaw International Chopin Piano Competition in 45 years!

Two years later she made her debuts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and  Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and toured Spain with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow. Her recent performances with the Warsaw Philharmonic’s US tour have won critical acclaim from coast to coast.

Avdeeva’s style is characterised by intense musicality and emotional depth, formidable technique and intellectual rigour. Her Hong Kong debut recital features gems of the Romantic piano literature: Schubert’s three piano pieces, written shortly before his premature death, Liszt’s breathtaking Dante Sonata, and her signature interpretation of Chopin’s preludes.
