Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains - Two orchestras joining forces in a multi-arts mega show

The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Zhejiang Chinese Orchestra will bring to Hong Kong a stunning audio-visual show featuring a masterpiece painting by Huang Gongwang (1269-1354) of the Yuan Dynasty, Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. Inspired by the monumental artwork, an epic orchestral piece entitled Caprice on Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains was created by Liu Yuan, professor of Composition at the Central Conservatory of Music in China, and Jiang Ying. At its Hong Kong debut, the painting will be projected on a giant screen at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall to serve as a magnificent background to the hundred-strong combined orchestra. Also on the programme is Flying Brush, another piece of music that explores the wondrous dynamics of Chinese calligraphy, painting and musical notes by Hong Kong composer, Law Wing-fai. This will be yet another attempt by the HKCO to present the essence of the cultural legacy of calligraphy, painting and music of China, and promises to be a most gratifying experience for music enthusiasts.
