Totally Sondheim, an original musical-revue conceived and directed by Chinese-American director Glen Chin, celebrates the music of Stephen Sondheim with a Hong Kong flavor. All the songs in the show, written in another time for New York, apply perfectly to 2011 Hong Kong – they explore such issues as dealing with Tiger Mothers, dating, marriage, business and loneliness, as well as the everyday stresses and mundane routines of life in a big city.
American composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim has won an Academy Award, multiple Tony Awards and Grammy Awards, and a Pulitzer Prize. His most famous scores (as composer and lyricist) include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods and Assassins. He also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story and Gypsy.
