The Hong Kong Palace Museum consists of 9 galleries. Gallery 1 to Gallery 5 feature a wide range of topics related to the Forbidden City: its architecture, art collections (covering paintings, calligraphies, ceramics and art objects), cultural exchange with foreign countries, court life, and more, introducing the history and culture of the Palace Museum. Adopting a Hong Kong perspective, Gallery 6 and Gallery 7 present the Chinese art collections from Hong Kong along with multimedia installations from local artists inspired by the Palace culture. Gallery 8 and Gallery 9 are devoted to large-scale special exhibitions co-organize with different cultural institutions. This season, Gallery 8 showcases 30 finest and rarest Chinese paintings and calligraphy masterpieces, while Gallery 9 highlights objects on the theme of horses, loaned by the Palace Museum and the Louvre Museum.
