Cantonese Opera Advancement Association

In Hong Kong, Cantonese opera, which was developed rapidly during 1940-80s, is the only local art form. Many wonderful librettos, music and artists have left memorable moments in people's minds. However, with different problems such as the emergence of new and fresh entertainment and lack of promotion, the color of Cantonese opera faded gradually. Therefore, Cantonese Opera Advancement Association (COAA) was founded to help our members from local Cantonese opera troupes and promote Cantonese opera to the public, providing chances for them to understand the fun and meaning of Cantonese opera.
