Poon Chun Ho

Beyond Dance Theater’s Associate Artistic Director and regular evening class tutor. Poon is also a freelance performer and theatre educator. He was a part time lecturer of the Drama School of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in between 2017 and 2022. Poon graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) Degree, majoring in Acting. During his study, Poon participated in numerous performances and received two Outstanding Actor Awards with “Electronic City” and “The Desired”. Moreover, “The Black and the Blue of a Man” obtained the 22nd Hong Kong Drama Awards – The Best Preferment. After graduation, he joined Theater du Pif with the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and became a full-time intern actor. In 2018, Poon was invited to join the Professional Intensive Training Workshop by Gecko Theater in the UK.He won the Distinct Actor Award from the 11th Hong Kong Theater Libre with “Castle of Glass” produced by the Hong Kong Repertory Theater. In the Hong Kong Dance Award 2022, he was nominated for “Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer” through Beyond Dance Theater “Remnants”. In the Hong Kong Dance Award 2024, his choreographic work “For C.” was nominated for “Tom Brown Emerging Choreographer” and "Outstanding Medium Venue Production”.
