“Meet the Arts Leaders” Series – Chan Kin Bun and his theatre journey

Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association launched “Meet the Arts Leaders” Series since last year, inviting outstanding arts leaders from different arts forms to share their precious experience from career and their philosophy.

The coming guest speaker of “Meet the Arts Leaders” Series would be Mr Kin Bun Chan, a seasoned arts administrator and Executive Director of Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (HKRep). He has been connected to Hong Kong Repertory Theatre since the 1980s. He has started to lead the team of HKRep for more than 17 years and witnessed the changes and development in the company.

In response to the 40th anniversary of HKRep, Mr Chan and his literature research & publications team spent 18 months to interview 40 people who have been closely related to the development of his company and published the book “40 Dialogues on Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Development 1977-2017”. Mr Chan will talk about his working experience, observation on changes of theatre and the prospect of Cantonese theatre in this coming event.
