Rachel Cheung

Hong Kong-born pianist Rachel Cheung is acclaimed for her sophisticated and compelling music-making, earning her the title of "a poet and a dramatist" (The Dallas Morning News). As a finalist at the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, she captivated audiences with her imaginative interpretations and was awarded the Audience Prize through online voting. A Steinway Artist, she is known for her elegant stage presence and refined performances across three continents.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, she graduated with first-class honors from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under Eleanor Wong. Later, at Yale University, she studied with Peter Frankl and won the Elizabeth Parisot Prize. Cheung has earned honors at prestigious competitions, including Leeds and Chopin. In 2019, she received the Artist of the Year award from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Her debut international album, Reflections, featuring works by Chopin, Ravel, and Beethoven, is set to release in 2023 by Universal Music.
