About the Programme
This programme aims to enable students to make an in-depth pursuit in both academic studies (criticism and theory) and practices (applied skills) in contemporary photography. The overall background and knowledge of contemporary issues in photography will be discussed. Students are expected to deal with historical perspectives, criticism and theories in photography and to explore contemporary lens-based image-making through a curriculum in the culture, history, theory and practice of photography. Students will be trained to reflect their learning through essays and photographic project work.

 Time: Wednesday (7:00 − 10:00 PM), Saturday (2:00 - 5:00PM)

History and Criticism of Photography (45 hours)
Contemporary Issues in Photography (45 hours)
Paradigm of Photography (45 hours)
Graduate Project (15 hours)

This course has been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund purposes. Application for CEF has to be made before commencement of the modules.

Entry Requirements
Applicants shall:
1. hold a bachelor's degree awarded by a recognized university; If the degree or equivalent qualification is from an institution where the language of teaching and assessment is not English, applicants shall provide evidence of English proficiency, such as:
(i) an overall band of 6.0 or above with no subtests lower than 5.5 in the IELTS; or
(ii) a score of 550 or above in the paper-based TOEFL, or a score of 213 or above in the computer-based TOEFL, or a score of 80 or above in the internet-based TOEFL; or
(iii) HKALE Use of English at Grade E or above; or
(iv) HKDSE Examination English Language at Level 3 or above; or
(v) equivalent qualifications.
AND
2. have experience and knowledge in photography with camera and photography-editing software.

Applicants are required to attend an interview and present a portfolio of their photographic works.
Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on individual merit.

 Application Fee: $200 (non-refundable)
 Tuition Fee: $38,500 (1st installment: $25,000 to be settled in Sep 2018; 2nd installment: $13,500 to be settled in Jan 2018)

Scholarship
Scholarship offered by Asia One Communications Group will be awarded to two graduates who achieved the highest and second highest cumulative GPA. Each of the scholarship recipients will be given HK$20,000.
