To celebrate our opening, the Hong Kong Cantonese Opera Chamber of Commerce – founded in 2009 to promote artistic and operational excellence among local professional troupes – has curated a rich programme of new and traditional works. Brought to you by the veteran and emerging performers of its member troupes, the programme offers comedy, romance, martial arts and intrigue!

This romantic Tang dynasty legend tells the tale of poor scholar Ai and a young woman named Leng. When envious Prince Min seeks to take Leng as his concubine and separate the couple with a raging fire, Leng and Ai jump into the flames. Reunited in the afterlife as Jiutian Xuannü, the goddess of the ninth heaven, and immortal Fengyue Xianzi, their love is blessed by the gods for eternity.
