Ted Lo

After graduating from the Berklee College of Music, Ted Lo began his musical journey as a freelance pianist in the Boston area during the 1970s. In 1979 he moved to New York City, where his career included stints as a member of “Herbie Mann and The Family of Mann” and the Ron Carter Quartet. By the end of the 80s he had performed and recorded with an impressive list of jazz artists, including Astrid Gilberto, Dave Valentine, Joe Lovano, and Airto Moreira & Flora Purim.

Lo returned to his homeland, Hong Kong, in 1996 to pursue a diverse career as a musician, composer, music director, arranger and producer. He has worked with many local artists including George Lam, Eason Chan, Jacky Cheung and Justin Lo, and continues to work with local musicians such as Eugene Pao, contributing to the promotion of jazz in Asia.
