"What would one experience during a time-travel journey in Yau Ma Tei? She is a place full of history and vitality — new malls and old markets;
commercial buildings and tenement houses; small shops and big stores, all thriving together as a community. These combinations seem to be
contradictory, but when you look closely, you would see the harmony within the city. The ambiguity and collage of chaos are what making
Yau Ma Tei a charming community.

Situated at 68 Portland Street, Tung Nam Lou kicks off 2019 with “1950 Heritage Art Fair”, tracing back to when Tung Nam Lou first opened its door
as a seafood restaurant in 1950 at the same location. Later, the restaurant transformed into a commercial building, and has finally rebranded to a
composite space today; which brings together a hotel, co-working space, and art space. Tung Nam Lou is deeply rooted in Yau Ma Tei for 69 years,
and is a witness of the lapse of time.

The participating artists and creative groups share their interpretation and imagination of the passing of time. It could be a story of the community,
a revitalisation of traditional craftsmanship, an interaction between the people; anything that is worth exploring and experiencing. Through a series
of art happenings like exhibitions, workshops, gatherings and docent tours, we explore the diversity of art experiences among our artistic community."
