Call for Participation

Workshop for Hong Kong Based makers (craftspeople & designer-makers) who are interested in learning digital fabrication technologies

Organizers: The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at the Education University of Hong Kong & DTSL (STEM education specialist group)

Workshop Dates: 22, 29 June & 6, 13 July 2019, Saturdays 2-5pm (3 hrs per week, total 12 hrs)
Venue: DTSL, Unit 20, 9F, 1 Hung To Rd, Kwun Tong
(Ngau Tau Kok MTR exit B5)

Who can participate?
- Any Hong Kong based makers who run craft-related business (ceramics, jewellery, leather, textile, glass, wood, etc.)
- No prior experience in digital fabrication technologies required, but some knowledge or experience in using 2D graphic software would be helpful
- Maximum 10 participants
-The participant is required to attend all four sessions.

Workshop Contents
3D modeling (Sketchup & 2D vector graphic software), 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting

Medium of Instruction: English supplemented with Cantonese

Tuition Fee: free*(materials included)

A workshop certificate issued by the Education University of Hong Kong will be given upon the completion of the course.

Deposit(500 HKD) will be collected by a crossed cheque on or before 9 June 2019, and will be refunded to the participant upon the completion of the course.*

The participant must attend all four sessions.

We will audio-video record the sessions, and interviews will be held for research and educational purposes only.
