Born in Jilin, China, Tang Min graduated from Beijing Dance Academy and danced with The National Ballet of China as Principal Dancer from 1979 to 1988. During her career, she was a Principal Dancer at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Fort Worth Dallas Ballet. Tang won silver medals at Osaka International Ballet Competition in 1984 and at Varna International Ballet Competition in 1986.
