Angus Lee has toured to international music festivals as flautist of Hong Kong New Music Ensemble since 2016. Angus undertook rigorous specialist training in the field of new music interpretation at the Lucerne Festival Academy under the supervision of musicians of Ensemble Intercontemporain. Parallel to his work as a performer, Angus maintains an active schedule as a composer, and his works have been performed at international festivals. His first opera, Chasing Waterfalls, created in conjunction with the Berlin-based sound artist collective klingklangklong, was premiered at Semperoper Dresden in 2022 and subsequently toured to Hong Kong's New Vision Arts Festival. He currently teaches at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts; he is an assistant lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, where he is pursuing his doctoral studies in composition. He is also flute faculty of the Lucerne Festival Academy in 2022 and 2023.
