Freespace Jazz Fest: Imaginarium – HK/CologneWest Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Freespace, Goethe-Institut Hongkong

A transcontinental multimedia experience combining music, technology and free improvisation

Imaginarium – HK/Cologne is a real-time collaboration between musicians from Hong Kong and Germany that combines the exploratory nature of last year’s Jazz Imaginarium with the border-transcending essence of the Experimental Jazz Lab. Connecting artists and audiences on opposite sides of the globe – in Freespace, Hong Kong and Stadtgarten, Cologne – the immersive experience explores the possibilities of enhanced real-time audio-visual technology. The result is a multimedia virtual and real-life free improvisation jam that encourages new encounters, new types of communication and new forms of musical and visual experimentation.

Imaginarium – HK/Cologne is co-presented and co-produced by Freespace and Goethe-Institut Hongkong, and is part of West Kowloon’s mission to establish international platforms and initiate long-term artistic collaborations.
