Sheridan Burke, ICOMOS Honorary Member, will introduce The Twentieth-Century Historic Thematic Framework: A Tool for Assessing Heritage Places published by the Getty Conservation Institute in collaboration with the ICOMOS ISC20C.

Internationally, professional and scholarly interest in the conservation and promotion of 20C heritage places is growing. Yet significant places of the modern era are absent or under-represented in most heritage surveys, from local inventories to World Heritage nominations. So many sites and places are at risk through lack of public awareness and protection.

The new framework is a tool for heritage conservation professionals around the world, a catalyst for Identifying and conserving 20C heritage sites and places.
