Mic Lee is currently an independent producer, involved in projects covering music, theatre, dance, multimedia and exhibitions. Previously worked five years at the outreach department of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, he was engaged as the Assistant Project Manager (Special Project) in 2021-2022, responsible for all the arts education activities under the HKAF 50th anniversary project Laila, including a school touring performance and an Art X Tech Creative Competition. Throughout the years, Michael has organised workshops & performances for over 60+ secondary schools. In 2022, Michael established Cultural Spectacles Ltd. to curate multi-disciplinary arts production and educational project, promoting cross-genre collaboration and exploring innovative and avant-garde performances.
Michael graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music (Cello Major) from the Hong Kong Baptist University and later obtained a master’s degree in Performance Science from the Royal College of Music. During his stay in the UK, he studied performance psychology and communication behaviour in synchronous online rehearsal and performance. He has worked for Dimension Plus Ltd, Hong Kong Arts Festival and the Music and Outdoor team at West Kowloon Cultural District (HK), and participated in the 2016 BBC Proms Extras and City of London Sinfonia outreach activities. Collaborated organisations include Taikoo Place, West Kowloon Cultural District, Drama School of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Tai Kwun (Performing Arts), Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong and HKU MUSE etc.
