Sichuan Opera Theatre of Chengdu

Inheriting the Chuanju tradition of the historic and famous Sanqing Club Theatre Company of the early 20th century, Sichuan Opera Theatre of Chengdu has created and performed numerous signature works, and cultivated many talented performers. The troupe has staged many memorable productions such as The Flood of Desires and The Reincarnation of a Beauty, and won many awards including the Five “One” Project Award, Wenhua Grand Award, Wenhua New Play Award, Wenhua Award for Outstanding Performance presented by the Ministry of Culture, as well as the Outstanding Repertory Award, Performance Award and Music Award of the Chinese Theatre Festival. The troupe has toured over thirty countries and regions, and staged almost 900 productions. As the only Sichuan opera troupe in Chengdu, the troupe is home to many outstanding artists, including nine Plum Blossom Award winners.
