Kai-Hei Chor is a former Principal Cellist at the Royal College of Music London and a prize-winning cellist. He is highly active in the music scene in Hong Kong, currently serving as a Cellist at the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and the Artistic Director of Musicademics. Chor has received numerous awards and has performed in music festivals and concerts worldwide. He is also recognized in major Hong Kong media outlets such as the South China Morning Post and RTHK.
As an educator, Chor is a faculty member at The Education University of Hong Kong and serves as an orchestral tutor in various schools. He is an Expert Advisor at the Music Office, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and a Staff Ensemble-in-Residence at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Chor's orchestral experience includes being the first Hong Konger to be appointed as principal cellist in both the RCM Symphony and RCM Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and conductors like Sir Simon Rattle and Bernard Haitink. Chor holds a BA in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as postgraduate degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal College of Music London, where he received scholarships and awards.
