Sonata for Solo Cello
String Quartet No. 2
利蓋蒂（1923-2006）是二十世紀後期最受觸目的前衛作曲家之一。為紀念其誕辰一百周年，繆思樂季精心策劃了一場利蓋蒂音樂盛宴，邀請本地音樂家熊韋皓（古鍵琴）、張緯晴（鋼琴）、潘澤然（大提琴），和CONG 四重奏為觀眾帶來精選室樂作品。難得的曲目包括糅合浪漫深情與炫目技巧的《無伴奏大提琴奏鳴曲》(1948/1953)；顛覆傳統之餘，亦不乏經典隱喻的《音樂探索》(1951-1953) 和《第二號弦樂四重奏》(1968)；更有巔峰造極的《無窮動》(1968)。這為古鍵琴而作的小品，讓樂手盡情發揮靈活技藝，探索樂器的無限可能。音樂會中，利蓋蒂的名言更會穿插於音符之間，讓音樂和文字交織互動。

由世界頂尖的柏林愛樂樂手所組成的柏林巴洛克獨奏者樂團，繼八年前來港呈獻巴赫《布蘭登堡協奏曲》全集，今年十月將重臨繆思樂季舞台。這次更將聯同柏林愛樂成立141年來首位中國音樂家、第一中提琴首席梅第揚，為觀眾帶來一系列層次鮮明的意大利及德國巴洛克經典作品，包括泰利文、羅拉和帕格尼尼的三首中提琴協奏曲。

超人氣日本鋼琴家角野隼斗（Cateen），除了一手包辦鋼琴演奏、作曲編曲外，本身亦是科學專才及網路紅人，突破古典傳統和現代科技界限。萬眾期待的香港首演火速售罄，現加開10月13日場次，角野除會演奏巴赫及蕭邦的鋼琴經典外，亦會分享自己的原創作品及歌舒詠的兩首名曲！

作曲家林樂培特立獨行，蓽路藍縷，「在傳統中尋根，在前衛中找路」是他畢生的信條，其生平及貢獻已被載入權威的《格羅夫音樂與音樂家辭典》，是同代中國音樂家中的極少數。這場音樂會以五首他創作生涯不同階段的室樂作品為切入點，探討這位大師半世紀以來為中國音樂現代化所走過的道路。

The binational contemporary jazz group Invisible Architecture reunites for the first time since their winning of the Golden Melody Awards in 2022, bringing to HKU MUSE a debut performance of their album Between Now and Never. Comprised of Hong Kong native guitarist Alan Kwan, American drummer Matt Young, and keyboardist Jordan Gheen, the group will be joined by bassist Mike Luzecky. Together they will take the audience on an exploration between imagination and the imaginable, with a virtuosic, live interpretation of their genre-melding works that fuse electronica with modern jazz vocabulary. The programme also features a short sharing by the group, revealing intimate details of the creative processes and inspirations behind the album, which was produced digitally at the height of the pandemic.

Requited love, or the absence of it, remains a dominant muse for composers. Come and hear a performance by celebrated tenor Christoph Prégardien, accompanied by Roger Vignoles, of three song cycles of love, loss, and yearning. Beethoven expresses regret and acceptance in his song cycle An die ferne Geliebte. Schubert laments rejected love in the yearning melodies of his Rellstab-Lieder from Schwanengesang. And in Dichterliebe, Schumann depicts a story of love and betrayal set to Heinrich Heine's poems.

The music of Mieczysław Weinberg (1919-1996) is among some of the greatest hidden treasures of the 20th century. A close friend of Dmitri Shostakovich's, Weinberg owned a prolific and powerful repertoire, including 17 string quartets and 22 symphonies. Quatuor Danel, founded in 1991, has worked closely with family members of both composers and is widely known for intimate and insightful renditions of their music. In the Quartet's Hong Kong Debut, they will bring us three remarkable works by Shostakovich, Weinberg, and Tchaikovsky. The evening's finale, the first movement of Mendelssohn's Octet, will be presented with Hong Kong’s own Cong Quartet, who has been closely mentored by the Danel in Europe over the years.
