Step back in time to 1930’s Paris with an evening of gypsy jazz sounds
This April, at the Xiqu Centre’s Tea House Theatre, The Hot Club of San Francisco celebrates the lively gypsy jazz sounds of Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the legendary jazz group Quintette du Hot Club de France. Paying homage to the guitar- and string-based jazz and swing of 1930s Paris, the accomplished American ensemble presents original compositions and innovative arrangements of classic tunes.
The Hot Club of San Francisco features the talent of lead guitarist Paul Mehling, double GRAMMY Award-winning violinist Evan Price and a swinging rhythm section – a seductive and compelling combination that has delighted audiences around the globe for over 25 years.
