Since 2019, Count-in Music Limited has been organizing the Hong Kong Youth Jazz Collective ( HKYJC ) program every year. It is a jazz educational program offering systematic jazz training for local young musicians. The program envisions supporting the development of the Hong Kong jazz scene. By the end of the program, an annual concert will be held to share students' learning outcomes.
Same as the past five years, a group of passionate young jazz musicians was recruited in October. As YJC enters its fifth year, we are going for a new attempt! We form a "HKYJC Big Band", and we are delighted to invite Jonathan Katz, the leader of the Tokyo Big Band, as this year visiting artist to coach and guide our YJC members and performing small group and big band music in the coming HKYJC annual concert.
This year YJC members and the HKYJC big band are ready to showcase their achievements and bring their music on a big stage. With both small group and big band performances, the audience will have the opportunity to appreciate the charm of jazz music from different perspectives. Please come and support our local young talent and we will see you at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on 4 May 2024.
