Ken Kwok graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts(HKAPA) School of Dance majoring in Musical Theatre Dance. During his study there, he attained the ISTD Advanced Tap Certificate with Honours, and was awarded a scholarship to participate in the American Dance Festival in 1998.
From 2001 to 2004, he joined the Hong Kong Dance Company as a full-time dancer, performing in many of its well-known productions. From 2004 to 2005 he received a scholarship to further his studies in Modern, tap dance and Jazz dance at the Off Jazz Dance Center in France. Between 2005 and 2007, he attained Australia’s Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) Advanced Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Bar & Gold Star tap Certificate with Honours & (CSTD) Teacher’s Certificate. He obtained the Honours Award (Tap Dance Category) at the Kangaroo Cup in 2006.
His major performance & choreography include the tap piece in the event “Dragon Jamboree” for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, 2008 Hong Kong Dance Awards opening tap dance performance. His choreography {2x2K} was invited to be performed at Taipei tap festival 2008 – Tap together. In November 2008, he participated as a choreographer and a producer for R&T’s first production – Original Tap Show (Under The Hood). In April 2009, he worked alongside MT Pulse to choreograph for its jazz dance show Blazing.
Ken is the founder & member of R&T (Rhythm & Tempo), a freelance dancer and choreographer. He is a dance teacher at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for EXCEL, CCDC Dance Centre, Hong Kong Dance Company Evening Course and other institutions.
