Kim is a dancer, educator and choreographer from San Francisco, California specialising in jazz dance styles, commercial hip hop, and traditional West African dance. With 20 years of teaching experience under her belt, Kim has dedicated her current life in Hong Kong to a career in youth and special needs education.
Known for her dynamic and engaging teaching style, Kim has led classes and workshops in schools, clubs and non-profit organisations all around the world. She prides herself in working with different groups and organisations to create inclusive and meaningful spaces for individuals to express themselves through movement. In 2024, Kim was invited to speak at the Hong Kong International Inclusive Dance Festival about the state and progress of inclusion in dance within and outside of Hong Kong.
As a professional performer, Kim has danced at events like the Cathay International CNY Parade, Macau International Parade, Clockenflap, and at the HK International Airport. In addition, she's performed and been involved in multiple community projects with West Kowloon, Unlock Dancing Plaza, No Limits, Casson & Friends, Musical Dreams Theatrical, 18dART, African Drumming and Dance Connection, Sankofa HK, Majestic Entertainment, and many more.
Currently, Kim is passionate and focused on creating choreography and developing a stronger relationship with the theatre. She was the choreographer for the original French musical, "Mer Calme", and has worked extensively with the Hong Kong Players on their annual pantomimes like "Robin Hood" (2022), "Dick Whittington" (2023), "Peter Pan" (2024), and "Beauty & the Beast" (2025). She recently won the Choreography Award for her piece, "The Queen's Gambit", at the HKSDA's 62nd Schools Dance Festival.
