Yu Ting Fai

Pete is a composer and sound artist currently studying at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
( HKAPA ). His work focuses on exploring the organic and natural qualities of sound, drawing inspiration from Zen Buddhism and the aesthetics of electronic music. He often recreates electronic effects in acoustic settings, emphasizing spatial elements and site-specific compositions that merge sound with their environment.

Through his practice, Pete seeks to challenge conventional listening and guide audiences toward active, conscious engagement with sound. As a jazz pianist and DJ, he incorporates harmonic and rhythmic sensibilities into his compositions, bridging traditional and experimental sound worlds. Rooted in a commitment to making experimental music accessible, Pete’s creative practice connects sound to daily life while exploring its transformative potential.
