A group of "laidback/ lethargic" Red Cross Youth members, persuaded by their leader, finally squeezed time out of their busy schedules to participate in volunteer service, creating "Life Story Books" for the elderly. This time, their interview subject was the group leader's grandfather.
The grandfather experienced Shek Kip Mei fire during his childhood, which ignited his desire to help others. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, he was forced to abandon this aspiration and could only place his hopes on his son, Lik-hung. Lik-hung became a doctor and, after witnessing the hardships of the "Lan Kwai Fong Tragedy," "SARS," and "COVID-19," resolved to participate in rescue efforts in war zones, seeking the true essence of humanitarianism.
Through listening and accompanying the elderly, the youth deeply appreciated the courage it takes to fight against adversity and discovered the "Eighth Principle" behind the Red Cross's "Seven Principles."
Presented in Cantonese with Chinese and English surtitles.
Suitable for ages 6 and above.
No latecomers will be admitted until a suitable break in the programme.
