The International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music, organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, is dedicated to nurturing young talents in leading Chinese ensembles. Since its inception, the competition has become a vital platform worldwide. For the 49th orchestral season, marking its fifth edition, the Wuxi Chinese Orchestra hosts the preliminary and quarter-final rounds. Participants not only compete but also engage in cultural immersion activities, experiencing the rich musical traditions of the Jiangnan region.
The semi-final and final rounds will take place in Hong Kong with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. In this concert, three finalists lead the ensemble in representative works that blend traditional and modern styles in a veritable test of their musical and conducting prowess.
