About the Artists
Gia Ionesco
Romania born Canadian GIA IONESCO has been considered as a keyboard wiz by the aficionado for decades.
Gia is currently working on various projects, alongside with Jimmy Haslip (Ex Yellow Jacket), Mino Cinelu, Virgil Donati, Asaf Sirkis, Belodo and many others. Although Gia had been busy leading his successful band Gia & The Unpredictable Update, but still eager to explore the possibility to show his compositions in a trio format, thus born the power trio GAT, which will begin their maiden voyage in this fall 2025.
Asaf Sirkis
Born in Israel, Asaf started his professional career as a drummer in the late 80's and played with some of Israel's Jazz luminaries such at Harold Rubin and Alber Beger. A few years after the recording of his first solo album 'One Step Closer' Asaf relocated to the Netherlands, France and finally settled in London around 1999 where he soon became one of the most sought after Jazz drummers in town. In January 2023, Asaf became a member of the legendary British jazz-rock group Soft Machine and has been touring with the band worldwide. Asaf has been playing with many other renown jazz and world music artists such as: Dave Holland, Tim Garland, Gwilym Simcock, Larry Coryell, Jeff Berlin, John Abercrombie, Bob Sheppard, Dave Liebman, David Binney, Kenny Wheeler, Andy Sheppard and many more.
Tyler Emond
Tyler Emond is an acclaimed bassist, composer, and record producer based in Toronto. Known for his virtuosic playing, Emond has toured the world playing jazz, classical, baroque, Arabic maqam, pop, experimental electronica, and much more. He has produced records for the likes of Ahmed Moneka, Selcuk Suna, Ventanas, Melissa Lauren, Kune, Duane Forrest, Hush, Tara Moneka, and his own group Tennis Partner. These albums have earned him awards and nominations for the Junos, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and the Canadian International Songwriters association.
Tyler has performed and/or recorded with: Kevin Breit, Hiromi, Alessia Cara, Avataar, Randy Brecker, The Canadian Arabic Orchestra, Naseer Shamma, The Identity Song Cycle, Matt Dusk, The Shuffle Demons, Tyler Shaw, Fethi Nadjem, among many others.
