Born in Hong Kong, Simpson graduated with First-class Honours from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in contemporary dance and co-minoring in pedagogy and choreography. He was the recipient of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship and The Gifted Young Dancer Programme scholarship and represented the Academy to perform in France.
Also, he was a member of CCDC's Dance Training Scholarship Scheme "612 mini dancers", "Teens of Colours" and "WuDaoQingNian".
He officially joined City Contemporary Dance Company after graduating in 2020 and was promoted to senior dance artist in 2024. Now, he is currently working as a freelance artist who is highly engaged in choreography, research and teaching partnering and Dynamic Floorwork/ Flow. His recent choreographic work includes "What do you think?" and "When we talk about dance…", "Symbiosis".
