Park Stickney is a world-class harpist renowned for bringing the most electrifying music on stage. As the master of cross boundary transcendence, Park combines classical and jazz works in improvisational settings; his diverse repertoire from jazz to classical to rock galvanizes the contemporary music world. In a long time collaboration with Swiss flutist Regula Küffer, they had just in March 2012 improvised cadenzas onstage in the Mozart Flute & Harp Concerto with the Berne Chamber Orchestra for the project “Mozart & More”. Park’s most recent group with bassist Dino Contenti and percussionist Gigi Biolcati is called “The Lion, the Wolf, and the Donkey”. Videos of this highly charged trio have been instant YouTube hits.

In this evening of Jazz, Park will dazzle us with his version of all time favorites. He will team up with local talents Ann Huang, Allen Youngblood, Sharon Kwok, Manting Chan and members of the Hong Kong Harp Chamber Ensemble and titillate us with new renditions.

Guest Performers:

Ann Huang
is Harp Principal of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and one of the most recognized harpists in Hong Kong. She also lectures part-time at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Music Office. Ann is also the Music Director of Hong Kong Harp Chamber.

Sharon Kwok
in addition to her passion in environmental conversation as Director of Aquameridian Conservation and Education Foundation, is an accomplished artist who has her own Christmas album and often performs as a guest singer.

Manting Chan
Hong Kong American singer and songwriter, is crowned "musical theater princess" for her love for musical theater and famed style. In July 2011, Sony Music Hong Kong released her first album “Musical Journey”. She is currently busy planning with singers and producers from different schools for performances this year.

Allen Youngblood
is a versatile jazz composer, pianist and musician. As a leading figure in the local jazz scene, Allen has performed with many renowned jazz masters in many occasions, including American Public Radio Jazz Festival Broadcasts, Kool Jazz Festival, Centrum Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, etc.

Hong Kong Harp Chamber Ensemble’s goal is to raise the level of harp playing and interest in the harp in Hong Kong. It has a Junior Division and a Senior Division with children & youth students and passionate local harpists who perform widely in Hong Kong and abroad to advance the art.
