The COSMIC Concert – A Journey Through Space in 10 Parts

This extraordinary symphonic work was specially commissioned for APRIM by HKU LSR, serving as hosts and custodians for the Asia Pacific Regional Meeting of the International Astronomical Union. HKU LSR is proud to present this landmark composition, created in support of the Hong Kong Arts Without Boundaries Foundation.

At the heart of this event is an original orchestral symphony in 10 movements, themed around “A Journey Through Space.” The work is composed and directed by Shirley Choi, an award-winning composer whose artistry has been recognized across England, the USA, Europe, and Hong Kong. Her visionary music has earned international acclaim, and this new creation continues her legacy of blending innovation with inclusivity.

The performance will be brought to life by an inclusive orchestra of musicians with disabilities and able-bodied performers from the Hong Kong Arts Without Boundaries Foundation, founded by Shirley herself. Together, they will embody the spirit of unity and creativity, offering audiences a transcendent journey through the cosmos.
