We are excited and happy to welcome the outstanding violin duo REBO from Korea as our next guests in the concert series!
REBO brings together two exceptional violinists: Joonhwa Hur and Jiyoon Lee.
Joonhwa Hur completed his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) and the Hochschule für Musik Dresden. He has performed as Guest Concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Staatstheater Cottbus, Guest Principal of the Kammerphilharmonie Amadé, and substitute member of the Dresden Philharmonic. Back in Korea, he serves as Concertmaster of the NOA Orchestra and SC Orchestra, and is a member of Poète Trio and Carus Quartet. He has appeared at major festivals including Seoul International Music Festival (SIMF), Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF), and many more.
Jiyoon Lee earned her Master’s degree from the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and performed as a contracted member of the renowned Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig for three years. She has worked with leading German orchestras including the MDR Symphony Orchestra and Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar. In Korea, she is a member of the wald Ensemble and leader of the Rebo Ensemble. She is a regular participant in festivals such as SIMF, TIMF, and Pohang International Music Festival.
Together as REBO, this dynamic duo delivers beautiful violin artistry, rich musical dialogue, and warm connection straight from the heart.
