"Our Footprints Under the Stars" is an original Cantonese musical told from a parent-child perspective, focusing on media literacy, school inclusion, and intergenerational communication. The story follows a group of students navigating the confusion and choices of growing up, leading the audience into a world that is both realistic and imaginative: when misunderstandings arise, relationships are strained, and words are misused, how do we discern messages, understand each other, and learn to take responsibility and heal after each clash?
The performance uses songs to drive the plot, with a brisk pace and delicate emotions, allowing the audience to rethink the meaning of empathy and respect amidst laughter and tears. The play particularly emphasises the process of "apology → repair → moving forward": it's not just about saying sorry, but about learning to face, listen, change, and move forward together. Parents, children, and audiences concerned with education and inclusion issues will all find resonance in the play.
"Our Footprints Under the Stars" will be performed at the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre Theatre from July 25th to 26th, 2026. We invite you and your family to join us, to leave your footprints under the starry sky, and to take away a stronger understanding and hope.
- This performance is mainly in Cantonese, with some parts in English.
