Overview

Co-Curated by Teriver Cheung and Sheeta Ng

With our minds and bodies being confined to small spaces for prolonged periods of time due to the pandemic, we have been barred from nature and other people. To bring us back to the world we once knew, Tai Kwun invites the public to the “Into the blue” Forest. The “forest” provides a sanctuary where mindfulness meets jazz, inviting visitors to breathe in the aura of the botanicals and relax a top of a rattan-woven chair.

A series of “Into the blue” workshops will gently guide visitors “into the blue” and lead them “out of the blue”, as they are introduced to breathing exercises that enable self-healing techniques and yoga x improve sessions bring together the power of movement with music. Also not to be missed is the Forest Therapy Guided Walk, which leads participants through the natural landscapes of Tai Kwun, before presenting them with a Tea Appreciation Ceremony and jazz improvisation concert.

I. “Into the Blue” Forest

Tai Kwun Duplex Studio is transformed into a forest with rattan-woven chairs with a sound navigation of jazz music. Here you can slow down, take a deep breath, stretch your body, and surround yourself within the natural aroma of plants and the healing power of sound.

Visitors can take a moment to immerse themselves “into the blue” forest, and to experience a 15-minute audio guided mindfulness session to reconnect their bodies and minds.
