Festival PLUS is delighted to present Marcus Rudolf Axt, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Bamberg Symphony, in the 10th edition of the Hong Kong Arts Festival Distinguished Cultural Leadership Series.

Axt has extensive experience in artistic administration, programme planning and international touring. During Axt’s tenure as Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Bamberg Symphony for almost 10 years, the orchestra has been awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Music ( 2020 ), among many other accolades. In 2014 he initiated the Bamberg Symphony's Sponsorship Foundation, which has since supported the orchestra with a seven-digit sponsorship contribution. For many years, Axt has also taught various workshops for cultural and orchestra management.

In a conversation with Grace Lang, Programme Director of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Axt will discuss the many facets of managing a cultural institution, especially in this post-COVID era.
