Which comes first, the music or the words? Which is more comfortable, working close at hand or half a world away? Even when songwriting turns formulaic, there's no set formula for a good collaboration.

In conjunction with Soundtrack of Our Lives: Joseph Koo x James Wong x the Rise of Cantopop, this series examines the legacy of a pioneering Cantopop partnership by highlighting established musical collaborators today. Like Koo and Wong, who rarely worked together in the same room (later communicating by fax from different continents), today's composers and lyricists have a broad range of possibilities in form and subject matter as well as the working details of their craft. In these hour-long conversations, each collaborative duo discusses their approach to the delicate art and craft of merging music and words, along with how changes in society and technology have shaped their working styles and their relationship to today's listeners.

- There are four sessions in total. All conversations will be conducted in Cantonese only.
