Award winning jazz pianist-vocalist Maria Kim is coming to Hong Kong!
In 2023, she became the first artist recognized by Jazz People magazine as a "Rising Star" in both vocals and piano. Since then, she has released six albums featuring her own compositions and lyrics, captivating audiences with her unique interpretation and precise piano playing.
In 2022, she won the "Korean Music Award" for her album "With Strings: Dream of You" and was included in the prestigious "Jazz Audio Disc Award" by the most prestigious Japanese jazz magazine, Jazz Hihyo ( Jazz Critique ). Her live album "Two for the Road" was nominated for "Best Jazz Vocal Album" at the 2023 Korean Popular Music Awards and recommended by "Korea Daily News" as one of the year's top Korean albums. In 2023, she received the "Jazz Artist Award" at the 29th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards, solidifying her status as one of Asia's most influential jazz artists and becoming the most influential jazz artist in Asia.
Maria is not only shining in Korea but also released her debut album in North America through La Reserve. Three of her consecutive singles placed #1 on Apple Music – Music Video Chart, and her LP "Misty Blue" placed #1 on Yes 24 jazz chart.
Maria Kim is currently on a world tour and will perform in Hong Kong this December alongside Ji Peng and Masahiko Osaka, with local guitarist Alan Kwan as a special guest. This performance promises to be spectacular and is a must-see for jazz piano and vocal enthusiasts!
