A whimsical musical theatre production inspired by memories of busking

Alone in the "singer's battlefield" of a bustling pedestrian underpass, a busker sings songs designed to stir the emotions. But the passing crowd hurries by without stopping to listen. As she sings and dreams, she suddenly finds a banknote resting on the piano keys. Waiting for someone, she weaves stories of passersby into her lyrics. As the notes of the keyboard and her voice meet the cold walls of the underpass, will the person she's waiting for appear, or are they just a memory from her dreams? 

Sub-my-way is co-created by singer-songwriter Tse Nga-yi and playwright and director Tang Sai-cheong.

Due to the overwhelming response to the performance on 14 July, additional performance is scheduled on 18 August 2025. Tickets for the performance on 18 August available from 10am on 7 July 2025 (Monday).

WestK Cabaret Nights presents the best of Hong Kong's emerging and established cabaret artists. Bring your friends and join us for drinks, laughter and original acts of music, theatre, storytelling, stand-up and more. Performances take place on weekday evenings at the Tea House Theatre.

- Programme duration: 60 minutes.
- Performed in Cantonese. Surtitles are not available.
- Suitable for ages 6 and above.
- Ticket holders are advised to arrive early to redeem drinks and order additional beverages. A limited selection of drinks are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break.
- Unauthorised photography, audio and video recording are prohibited.
- Purchase or consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited for those under the age of 18.
- No outside beverages allowed.
- The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice.
- If a black rainstorm warning or a typhoon signal no. 8 or above is in force three hours before the start of the event, the event will be cancelled.
