Join Toolbox Percussion at our Toolbox Performing Platform programme ‘Romance of Resonance by Weichen Lin' at Eaton Club on 19 June evening! 'Romance of Resonance' is a marimba solo concert series created by Dr. Weichen Lin in 2025. This series stems from his deep appreciation and refined taste for the marimba’s timbre and solo repertoire. Through the careful selection of works and instrument setups that best highlight the marimba’s resonant qualities, the instrument’s sound is allowed to bloom and shine vividly within each performance space. Savouring works by Sinesi, Sammut, Sibelius, and more, listeners will experience the instrument's rich emotional depth and tonal expression.

About the artist
Dr. Weichen Lin has performed as a concerto soloist with the Houston Symphony, Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and Boston University Symphony Orchestra. He served as a percussionist with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra for three seasons between 2016 and 2019, performing at the Lucerne Festival and BBC Proms.

Weichen is the recipient of the First Prize at the 2008 Classical Marimba League International Artist Competition and the 2007 Italy PAS Percussion Competition. He is currently Assistant Professor at National Chiayi University in Taiwan, a Marimba Faculty at Boston University, and a M1 Premier Artist.
