Workshop of Jewelry Making Technique
The instructor will introduce jewelry making techniques and guide participants to create auspicious carp-shaped metal key chains or mobile phone stands resembling the vivid dance posture of auspicious animals by using the jewelry making tools.
Workshop of Fishing Net Plaiting Technique
The instructors will introduce the fishing net plaiting technique. Participants may experience the technique and create their own double-sided multiuse fishing net pouches. The pouches may use to store small items such as cards and loose change, making it ideal for everyday use.
Workshop of Wood Carving Technique
The instructors will introduce woodcarving techniques and guide participants in using woodcarving tools to carve the orchid motif on a wooden coaster, and inspire them to create their own patterns.
Workshops of Mahjong Tile Making Technique
The instructors will demonstrate and explain the traditional techniques of mahjong tile making, and participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at carving and colouring mahjong tiles featuring designs that reflect Hong Kong's unique character and geographical features, such as pineapple buns, milk tea, aeroplanes and sailing ships.
Workshop of Blown Sugar Technique
The instructor will demonstrate and introduce blown sugar technique, allowing the participants to create their own blown sugar creations.
Event Registration Guidelines:
1. The programmes are free of charge and will be conducted in Cantonese.
2. The programmes are subject to change without prior notice. The organiser reserves the right of final decision.
3. Online registration is required. Each applicant can only register for one person in the same activity. Each email can be used once only and a maximum of two programmes may be registered.
4. In case of oversubscription, an open ballot shall be conducted at 12:00 nn on 15 June 2026 (Monday) (Address: 25/F., Two Harbour Square, 180 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong) to determine the participant list.
5. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email by 22 June 2026 (Monday). Incomplete applications will not be processed. No further notice will be given to unsuccessful application.
6. All applicants have the right to request access to and make correction of personal data as stated in this form in accordance with Section 18, 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Personal data provided in this form will be used for arranging the programme. All personal data will be destroyed within one month after the programme is completed.
Event Rules:
1. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and only one set of materials will be offered.
2. Please be punctual. If you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, please notify the organiser in advance so that they can invite alternative participants.
3. Photography and videography will take place on the event day. The ownership of the recorded footage and photos belongs to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and may be used for promotion purposes by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leisure and Cultural Service Department and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office without further notice.
4. Applicants should assess their own physical condition and that of their accompanying person to consider whether they are fit to participate in the field trip. If in doubt, please consult a doctor. Applicants submitting the registration declare that they and their accompanying person are in good health and physically fit for the activity, and that they will assume full responsibility for the safety of themselves and their accompanying person. Applicants understand that they should consult a doctor prior to the event if they have any concerns regarding their physical conditions. In the event of any injury, illness, death, personal property loss, or financial loss suffered by the applicant or their accompanying person for any reason, the applicant agrees to release the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office from any legal liability arising from their participation in this event, and to waive all related rights, claims, and causes of action.
5. Please take good care of your personal belongings and bring your own reusable bag.
Arrangements under Inclement Weather Conditions:
Event will be cancelled if the following weather condition(s) is still in force 3 hours before the event begins:
i. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above is hoisted; or
ii. Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued; or
iii. “Extreme Condition” is in force.
Events already in progress: When Red Rainstorm Warning Signal or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 is issued, all events already in progress will continue; When Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above is issued or “Extreme Conditions” is in force, all events already in progress will be cancelled immediately.
In case of any disputes. The orgarniser reserves the right to make the final decision.
