Liu Cheng Mui

Liu Cheng Mui (b. 1968) was born in Beijing. In 1988, she gradu- ated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts the same year. After studying for a year, she was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture to study in the former Soviet Union. In 1996, she graduated from the Russian State Su- rikov Academy of Fine Arts with a Master's degree in Fine Arts. She has taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and is a member of the China Artists Association. She has also taught at the University of Hong Kong and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Liu has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2011 Guanlan International Print Biennial and the Outstanding Teacher Award at the 1st China Disabled Children's Art Festival in 2010. Her works have been collected by institutions such as the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Jiangsu Art Museum, the Zhejiang Art Museum, the Guan Shan Yue Art Museum, the Harbin Art Palace Print Museum, the Heilongjiang Art Museum, the Shen- zhen Art Academy, and the China Print Museum.
