Arièle Zanini

As the best specialist of French melody repertoire in Hong Kong, Ariele has been coaching the singers of the Vocal Department of the HK Academy for Performing Arts ( HKAPA ) since 1995. She has contributed to numerous local & international opera productions in Hong Kong. As the piano principal of the City Chamber Orchestra, she plays for live concerts, CD & radio recordings.

Education
Born in France, Ariele received her training at the Lyon Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique ( National Conservatory of Music, Lyon ), where she graduated in Piano Accompaniment and Lyric Coaching under the guidance of Suzy Bossard. She obtained a first prize in Piano with concert pianist Jean Martin, as well as first prizes in Accompaniment and Musical Analysis.

First years in France
She then worked in Lyon as an accompanist for The National Opera ( Emmanuel Krivine ), The Light Opera Company, and The Conservatory of Music, and toured Europe, Russia, and Japan, with the children's choir "La Cigale".

Lyric Coach in Hong Kong
Ariele arrived in Hong Kong in 1995 as a coach for the production of Offenbach's operetta "La vie Parisienne", staged by French director and conductor Michel Gies with the vocal student of the newly founded HK Academy of Performing Arts. She has been coaching the singers of the APA vocal department until today.

In 2003, she joined the Music & Drama institute as a coach and accompanist for opera and art song repertoire.

Opera collaborations
Ariele is the French coach specialist for Musica Viva from Professor Lo ( Romeo and Juliet, Faust, Daughter of the Regiment... ) and Hong Kong Opera: ( Les contes d'Hoffmann, Carmen, Werther... ). She collaborates to various vocal projects for "Le French May" ( La Perichole by Jerome Savary, French Melodies from 19th and 20th century... ). She accompanied Barbara Hendrix in HK and Shirley Bassey on the stages of Hong Kong and Bangkok.

She also helped for many classic musicals produced by the Hong Kong Singers.

Concerts & Recordings
Ariele has been the piano principal of the HK City chamber Orchestra since 2005. With them she plays a vast repertoire ( Poulenc, De Falla, Harry Potter live... ) and has recorded several award winnings CDs ( English Recorder Concertos, Classic Blend... ). She has also recorded several French programs of chamber music for Radio 4.
