Chan Wai Bun

Currently the Principal of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and Wai Bun Chan is one of the most sought-after violists in Hong Kong.

As a founder member of the local chamber music group The TimeCrafters, his recent engagements include Le French May Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival and West Kowloon Cultural District. He has also appeared in the United States’ Eastern Music Festival , London Symphony Orchestra’s concerts and many performances in the UK.
Born in Hong Kong, Waibun received his undergraduate musical training at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Mr Chan then completed the Guildhall Artist Master program under the tutelage of Prof. Matthew Jones at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, supported by the Guildhall School Trust Scholarship. He also enrolled in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as a visiting student and studied with Professor Ivan Chan.
