Xu Yingbang James
A theatre director and performer whose work explores contemporary performance through diverse texts, devising, and documentary theatre. He graduated from Chongqing University with a major in Drama, Film, and Television Acting, and MFA in Directing at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. His directing credits include Foxfinder, or not (a collaboration between HKAPA and Chung Ying Theatre), A Lost Dream in the Wind, The Maids, Medea, and The Net. His works have appeared at the Shenzhen Nanshan Theater Festival, Wuhan New Youth Theater Festival, and Guangzhou University Theater Festival.
His recent piece, The Last Performance, was nominated for Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Play at the 2nd International Monodrama Festival at Drum Tower West Theatre in Beijing. He has also performed in Hedda Gabler, Tartuffe, and The Balcony.
