After seven years as Principal Trombonist with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Nigel Crocker moved to Sydney, where he freelances regularly with organisations such as Opera Australia, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
His first venture into period music was in Pinchgut Opera's 2004 production of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo. Shortly afterwards, Paul Dyer invited him to play with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. He has since performed regularly with both of these organisations and has also appeared with Australia's Romantic & Classical Orchestra, the Australian Haydn Ensemble, and The Australian Bach Academy.
Crocker currently holds the positions of Principal Trombonist with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and Lecturer in Trombone at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
