Tristan BRAUD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Integrative Systems and Design at the Hong
Kong University of Science and Technology. He leads the Extended Reality and Immersive Media Lab (XRIM Lab) on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and the Metaverse.
Dr. Braud earned his PhD from Université Grenoble Alpes, France in 2016. Prior to his doctoral studies, he
received a MSC from both Grenoble INP, France, and Politecnico di Torino, Italy, after completing his engineering studies at Grenoble INP Phelma/Ensimag, France.
His research interests focus on the intersection of technology, design, and human interaction, with a particular emphasis on the development of immersive and inter- active systems for the Metaverse, Augmented and Virtual Reality. His research aims to create more engaging and personalized user experiences that bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds. He is also interested in pervasive and cloud computing, as well as human-centered system design.
Dr. Braud has published extensively in top-tier conferences and journals. In addition to his academic work,
he is actively involved in industry collaborations and has consulted for organisations in a variety of domains, includ- ing gaming, arts, and design. Dr. Braud is also a member of several professional organizations, including ACM and IEEE, and serves on the program committees of numerous conferences in the fields of human-computer interaction and pervasive computing
