The Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus Limited (HKVC) was founded in 2011 with a strong commitment to promoting choral education and fostering a vibrant choral community. As a government-registered non-profit charity organization, HKVC has played a pivotal role in advancing the art of choral singing in Hong Kong.
One of the hallmark initiatives spearheaded by HKVC is the Hong Kong Inter-School Choir Festival (HKICF), which has been a resounding success since its inception in 2018. This festival serves as a dynamic platform for primary and secondary school choirs across Hong Kong to showcase their talents and immerse themselves in the rich tradition of choral music. With a focus on inclusivity, the festival caters to students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that choral singing is accessible to all.
In addition to the HKICF, HKVC has launched a range of innovative programs to meet the needs of the inter-school community and society at large. The School Choir Incubator Programme and the School Choir Overseas Tour Programme are just a few examples of initiatives designed to nurture talent, foster creativity, and promote cultural exchange through choral music.
Central to HKVC's mission is the cultivation of a healthy inter-school choral culture grounded in values of learning, appreciation, and collaboration. In addition to that, HKVC places a strong emphasis on character education, recognizing the transformative power of choral training in shaping young minds and nurturing holistic development.
