At Hong Kong Dance Company’s 22/23 Dance Season, we have brought to the audience special gifts from Seoul and Yanbian artists with Dr Han Hyo-lim and Prof Jin Yinghua together presenting "Myth of the Dancing Durumi" in Hong Kong for the first time – a dance performance that showcases the traditional charm and contemporary elegance inherent in Korean and Chaoxian folk dance.
It took four years of preparation including 2.5 years of practices to create this exceptional performance. HKDC received rounds of applause from our beloved audience in the theatre. Overwhelmed by the number of requests from our fans, we are now thrilled to announce that "Myth of the Dancing Durumi" will soon be available online (Video-on-demand)!

Prof Jin Yinghua, an ardent promoter and educator of the folk dance of the Chaoxian ethnic group, is the Deputy Dean of the College of Arts at Yanbian University, and Vice Chair of Yanbian Dancers Association and Jilin Province Literature and Art Critics Association. She was elected one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Jilin Province. She has selected six riveting dance pieces for our audience to showcase the unique beauty of the Chaoxian ethnic group.
"The Moon"

"The Moon", successfully world premiered in September 2022, is choreographed by Dr Han Hyo-lim, world renowned Korean Choreographer and Dance Artist. Dr Han is inspired by Korean Shamanism and folklore to recreate the mysterious shamanistic rituals in a contemporary and minimalistic style. She joined hands with a team of top-notch artists and designers from Seoul to create a performance that combined dance with choreography, music, costumes, stage and light designs. It was a breathtaking performance that totally blew the audience away.
