Overview

Trees, rooted and forthrightly, witness the flow of people’s stories in the ebb and tide of the times.

Many are buildings in Hong Kong, so are trees. None cares much for the breezy shades when air-conditioning is a flick away. T for Trees and T for Threat. Log them trees, keep watch and control! The forgiving trees, oblivious to the cement that blocks the sky, bid farewell to the typhoon that breaks their limbs. To the blade that truncates, trees turn their heads to the tiniest cracks, where new homes will be built, new greens emerge. Trees live on, wherever the seeds land.

In her first collaboration with Tai Kwun, dance artist Gigi Yang partners with visual artist Chow Chun-fai, moving image designer Wilfred Wong and soundscape designer Lawrence Lau in transforming Tai Kwun’s F Hall Studio into a new realm through dance, visuals and music. The audience is free to move around the space as freely as seeds carried by the wind.
